Get to know MBU’s exchange partners in Northern Ireland

In this blog series, learn about each of MBU’s exchange partners. MBU undergraduate students who meet the specified criteria are encouraged to study abroad at our partner institutions. Up to three MBU students are eligible to apply to the Irish American Scholar’s program each academic year. Application deadlines are in early February so make sure you plan ahead!

Irish American Scholars Program

High performing students are invited to participate in the Irish American Scholars Program. This program allows MBU undergraduate students to study at one of four highly-ranked universities in Northern Ireland tuition free.

As this program is highly competitive, students are typically accepted for the fall semester only. It is possible to be accepted for a year, but this is quite rare.

This fall MBU is sending three students to Northern Ireland. Two students will be studying for a semester each at Queen’s and St. Mary’s, while one student will be studying at Queen’s for the full 23-24 academic year.

Click the links below to learn more about each of the participating institutions:

Queen’s University Belfast

Ulster University

St. Mary’s University College

Stranmillis University College

*3.2 GPA required to apply. Students will list their top three choices, but their placement will be determined by staff.
