International Ed Week Karaoke & Game Night

This Tuesday, November 19th, in celebration of International Education Week in the US, the Spencer Center hosted a Karaoke and Game Night event. The activities offered included karaoke, complete with microphones from Assistant Director Raven Showalter, origami, Bananagrams, Dobble (aka Spot It!) and many other games!

To eat, we had foods representing each language we have courses for in the World Languages and Cultures department.

For French, there were crêpes, thin pancake-like treats fillable with jams, nutella, or anything the heart desires, that students and guests were able to make themselves, under the guidance of Mme. Aaslestad, the French professor.

For Spanish, Dra. Patiño had corn with mayo, cheese, lime juice, and tajín to make esquites, aka elote en vaso; Mexican street corn in a cup! There were also mini-cupcakes, tres leches and churro flavored.

Lastly, for Japanese, Sensei Raven Showalter made matcha (powdered green tea) flavored cookies.

Thank you to all who attended, and we at the Spencer Center hope you had a great time and look forward to our next event!
