Miller School of Albemarle seeks an enthusiastic and knowledgeable high school science teacher to join
our faculty for the 2024-25 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with high
school students and a desire to teach high school science courses, including Biology and Chemistry. A
candidate should demonstrate a willingness to work as a team player and take an active role in the vibrant
Miller School community. A candidate should be inspired by the mission of Miller School and embrace
the opportunity to serve as an example of our “mind, hands, and heart” philosophy for our students.
The ideal candidate will have:
● A bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
● Experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, or other high school science courses
● A passion for working with young people, coupled with a commitment to meeting the needs of
diverse learners.
● Relevant athletic or cocurricular experience that will contribute meaningfully to MSA’s
after-school programming.
● Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Outside the classroom, the position includes 2 seasons of coaching a sport and/or leading a co-curricular
activity, acting as an advisor to a group of 8-9 students, and serving on a supervisory duty team.
The starting date for this position is August 2024. This is a full-time position, with healthcare and
retirement plan benefits.
