Math Teacher

Miller School of Albemarle seeks an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Math teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-26 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with high school students and the ability to teach a variety of courses across the spectrum of the high school math curriculum. A candidate should demonstrate a willingness to work as a team player and take an active role in the vibrant Miller School community. A candidate should be inspired by the mission of Miller School and embrace the opportunity to serve as an example of our “mind, hands, and heart” philosophy for our students.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related degree. Postgraduate degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience teaching a range of mathematics classes at the high school level, from introductory through upper level courses, is preferred..
  • Experience teaching Algebra 3, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus is strongly preferred.
  • A passion for working with young people, coupled with a commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners.
  • Relevant athletic or cocurricular experience that will contribute meaningfully to MSA’s after-school programming.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Outside the classroom, the position includes 2 seasons of coaching a sport or leading a co-curricular activity, acting as an advisor to a group of 7-8 students, and serving on a supervisory duty team.

The starting date for this position is August 2025. This is a full-time position, with healthcare and retirement plan benefits.
