The Norton Healthcare ARISE Clinical Research Internship
Norton Healthcare’s clinical research internship for undergraduate students provides individuals an opportunity to learn about the many critical roles in clinical research, with a goal of increasing inclusivity and equity in health care and academia
The Norton Healthcare Advancing Research Through Inclusivity, Sustainability and Equity (ARISE) Clinical Research Internship Program is a collaborative effort between the Institute for Health Equity, a part of Norton Healthcare, and Norton Research Institute. It is fueled by generous support from Abbott Laboratories as part of its Diversity in Clinical Trials initiative.
Interns will participate in a semester-long program, immersing themselves in hands-on research training. Each intern will be paired with a mentor in their field of interest, allowing them to integrate into a team environment and gain valuable professional research experience. The experience will include:
- Didactic learning modules: Interns will receive a broad introduction to research, followed by delving into customized learning modules crafted to augment their understanding of research methodologies, ethics and best practices in their area of interest.
- Practicum: Interns will be paired with a mentor in their field of interest, where they will immerse themselves within a team and gain practical experience consistent with training and career goals.
- Final product: While working closely with their mentor, interns will engage in a program-approved assignment aligned with their interest and guided by their mentor, allowing them to apply their skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
- Presentation: Upon completion of their internship, interns will deliver a comprehensive presentation summarizing their experience and showcasing their final product to the Norton Research Institute community.
This internship will be in person at our state of the art research facilities here in Louisville, KY. This role is semester-based requiring 20 hours a week, as needed. Applicants must be enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited undergraduate program and in good academic standing.
